Habit, lessons from the past
More an invisible cloak familiar,
God still speaks words of caution
The right, the wrong, dos and don'ts,
And you still tread your beaten path
Life unfolds in all its majesty
But your life is caught in drabness
As monotony dawns with the sun,
Anxiety draw drapes across eyes
That no longer see a thing of beauty.
Uprooting ideals taprooted to every cell,
Skimming scum that surface uttering verdicts,
Ploughing entrenched values of the yore,
Freeing minds of pent up baggage,
Misplaced ones that rake up nonsense.
Into a place unexplored unknown
Deep within the recesses of the mind
With each breath you travel
Accelerating, slowing down
To clear pastures of springtime.
