Crying does have a calming effect even if it does make you unbearably sad. Nice one, Nalini.

Intense feelings openly displayed and then the burden lifts off giving calm.

Hi Guys...here I talk about the gaining of experience in life. With tiny doses of happiness and sorrow, life teaches you patience and acceptance, all of which contribute to the serenity that comes with age...pickled in brine...strangely, laughter as well as pain bring tears...and both teach us how to live.

Somehow this picture is too disturbing to see. Along with the eyes and the tears, the pain is caught too.

Serenity is a beautiful word matching your haiku perfectly.

So rightly said that laughter as much as sorrow brings tears to the eyes and both are indeed calming! Great lines.
