Open Mind

“For myself, I found that I was fitted for nothing so well as for the study of Truth; as having a mind nimble and versatile enough to catch the resemblances of things … and at the same time steady enough to fix and distinguish their subtler differences; as being gifted by nature with desire to seek, patience to doubt, fondness to meditate, slowness to assert, readiness to consider, carefulness to dispose and set in order; and as being a man that neither affects what is new nor admires what is old, and that hates every kind of imposture” Francis Bacon, 1605.

Of fallacy and naivety
Accused stands human minds,
Sifter of alien anti ideas,
Blocking views closing ears,
Living in cosseted safety.

Throw open windows,
Sweep aside cobwebs
From masked cataract eyes,
Unplug clogged ears
Filled with half notions.

Egos and social-alcoves oppose
Critical thinking beyond ‘selves’,
Churned cream of fairness,
Merits that scream of logics,
Still minds inactively decompose.

Like sheep most follow
Speaking a common lingo
Unquestioned thought furrow,
Few attempt to blow
Logic into mumbo-jumbo.

Work around the mind-mechanism,
Fine-tune and correct the process,
Analyzing contrasts to bareness,
Open the mind to freely transgress,
Into deep zones worth a fathom.

We are too lazy to think, to lazy to question. We follow what is convenient to us.
