I am a dyslexic confident survivor,
Battled the taunts to emerge braver.
School was a nightmare best forgotten,
Tables ‘n’ writing made my brain molten.
Tears in my eyes I remember very clearly,
When asked in class to read a poem loudly.
No report card had more zeros than mine,
My handwriting! A crow walked on the line!
The written symbol and the spoken sound,
Foxed and cornered, I revolted out loud.
Now I write poems without much trouble,
With rhythm flow words without a fumble.
No fear or angst just high self-esteem,
Vivacious tranquility colours my dream.
(21st August, 2006)This is a true story...I heap a 10 ton thanks on my computer for correcting all my misspelt words in my poems and in my comments!!!! and if you still find some, do tell me coz I have got thick skinned enough not to take it to heart! LOL
