Assertion

baby_crying2
The newborn is a lesson of the truth,
of strange ways of the world and its people.
Just one holler loud-enough brings forth
the warm milk to still the painful rumble
that so often from deep within trouble.

Easily it learns in a day or two
faster it comes when the louder it screams
puffing up chest to redden its face too
punching the air above with plumpish limbs
challenging the limits of poor eardrums.

With the chin unafraid jutting outward
shoulders squared, the voice resonating
eyes unflinching, penetrating and bold
ask and only then will you get a thing
that belongs and that you should be holding.

Those ever silent ones are left holding
In hand an empty begging bowl, waiting

Wonderful post. They learn faster than us. Each newborn is sharper than the older one.

This is a wonderful blog Nalini .. I have learned something else though.. You description of Baby's hunger tantrum is colorful... never seen that though.

@LPine...most people just wait around waiting for things to happen...like a beggar with a bowl... opportunities are to be grabbed at assertively...they disappear before you can even say the word!!

All...Thanks for all the comments...feels really really good
smiling at you all:)

Your poem brings the picture of a "Crying Baby" in front of one's eyes. So vivid is the descriptive part, kudos to you.
