This poem is a tribute to one strong woman in Maharastra, India, and to millions of brave women all over the world, who are forced by circumstances to take up the world’s oldest profession. The woman I am talking about is Vaishali Haldankar who wrote her story in a book in Marathi. She is a good singer and now earns a living singing with an orchestra after the Government enforced a ban on dance bars.

That was such a touching poem. A salute from my side too... although this is a profession is not something our society can give a certificate to... i feel the people who have been forced into it need to be respected for what they are... a very nice post indeed
